CampBud began in 2020, in a Rustenburg garage, during a year that put most plans on hold. Being cut off from nature made our founder, Romeo, realise just how essential those quiet moments in the bush are. Cooped up inside and dreaming of the open veld, he knew that when the world finally reopened, local adventurers would be hungrier than ever for the true wilderness. With trails closed and trips cancelled, he channeled that longing into one simple mission: to make a kit that actually survives the wild.

Our first product was the Pro Sensor Headlamp — rugged, reliable, and ready for a midnight bush venture in The Kruger or a back-road camp in the Karoo. It sold out in weeks. Requests kept coming, so we kept building.
